ABOUT US

Our desire for the future is that in the next 36 months, this can be said about Whitewater Crossing...

We are a people of the Word, a people of prayer, and a people led by the Holy Spirit. We are a welcoming, vibrant church, a home for believers, and a refuge for the broken and suffering. We are a place where everyone can find hope, care, community, and the healing power of God. We are dedicated disciples of Jesus Christ, committed to making more and better disciples, both here and not here. Disciple-making is woven into everything we do.

We are an intergenerational church that values people in every stage of life. We are champions of the next generation - raising up young disciples and leaders who actively shape our church’s future. At the same time, we honor the wisdom and experience of older generations and foster opportunities for all ages to learn from and support one another as we grow together in faith.

Emulating Jesus, we serve one another with humility and love, encouraging and building up the body of Christ. We view our gifts, resources, and spheres of influence as tools for expanding God's Kingdom and share them generously. We each feel a personal call to evangelism and boldly embody and share the Gospel, starting in our homes and extending into our neighborhoods, workplaces, and communities.

We are unified in our aim to fulfill and embody the Great Commission and the Great Commandment. We are a church where people are frequently coming to faith and where baptisms are a regular, celebratory part of our community.

We generously collaborate with local and global individuals and organizations that share our values and mission, offering financial support, resources, and volunteers to advance kingdom work in other places.

Every day, in every place, we seek first the Kingdom of God—making Christ known, embodying the fruit of the Spirit, and joyfully building a kingdom legacy for generations to come.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

                    2016-Logo-Icon-Black.png

God is eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are co-equal, and each possesses all the attributes of God. God is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, and all that is in it.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, one with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Born of a virgin, he lived a sinless life, died on the cross for all sin, and was raised from the grave after three days to become our Savior. He ascended into heaven and will one day return to earth as Judge and King.

The Holy Spirit is one with the Father and Jesus Christ and serves as our comforter, guide, and advocate. Those who accept Jesus as their Savior receive the Holy Spirit to live inside them. The Spirit gives Christians guidance in living and an understanding of the Bible and prayerfully intercedes for them.

The Bible is God’s Word. It serves as our foundation and final authority on Christian beliefs and as a guide to living. It is divinely inspired and without error. It was given to mankind to know and understand God’s truth and love.

God created humanity in His image and to worship Him. Although people can do good, they willfully sin against God and are consequently lost and without hope apart from Jesus Christ.

Forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who trust Christ as Savior and Lord.

Salvation can neither be purchased nor earned. It is a gift from God, available only through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and received through faith. It is available to anyone who accepts Jesus as their Savior and Lord. That faith is expressed through repentance of sin and baptism by immersion.

The Church is the body of Christ, which exists to save the lost and edify the saved.

God created people to live forever with Him. Every person who accepts Jesus as Savior and follows Him will live eternally with God; those who refuse to accept Jesus as Savior will spend eternity in hell.
